Our refrigerator is not holding temperature. I appreciate the rapid response of Andres and his efforts to discover the cause of the high temperature. He was courteous, professional, and polite. I have doubts the 31 degree reading of the refrigerator compartment he told us is accurate. The glass thermometer we placed on a shelf read 42 degrees prior to and differing from the 31 degree reading he got on his electronic meter. We checked the temperature of a glass of water left in the refrigerator overnight, when the room temp dropped to 67 degrees, and still got 42 degrees at a refrigerator cooling setting of 5 using the glass thermometer. We also got 32 degrees with the glass thermometer when it was immersed in an pan of ice and water. At no time did we see ice in the glass of water left in the refrigerator overnight or any signs of freezing of food or drink in the refrigerator. Andres' two observations, 1. The refrigerator compartment temperature (31 deg), and 2.The room temperature (82 deg) having an affect on the refrigerator ability to cool, do not appear to be correct or part of an accurate assessment of the cause of the refrigerator inability to cool. At no time was the temperature of the compressor taken. The refrigerator compressor does not sound like it is tripping off due to overheating. Yet the refrigerator is still at 42-48 degrees with a setting of 5 whether room temperature is 82 or 67 degrees.
