Evan Ercolamento of Appliance Tec replaced parts on my Whirlpool dishwasher top rack so the rack now operates smoothly and doesn't fall downward as it gets rolled out for emptying. The broken parts made all the glasses and dishes crash together as I pulled the rack out to empty it. Evan is super-knowledgeable on how to diagnose a problem, pick exactly the right part needed, and install it so the appliance operates properly. He works quickly and efficiently and makes sure the product is operating exactly right before he leaves. The part causing the problem has been redesigned to strengthen it since the time I bought my dishwasher, so Evan made sure he replaced not only the two broken parts but also the two identical parts that hadn't broken yet but were of the old, weaker design. By doing this, Evan prevented the problem from repeating itself. He went above and beyond for me. I intend to request Evan specifically if any of my appliances need fixing in the future. The Appliance Tec organization is well-organized, customer-oriented, and can give you an appointment relatively quickly. The manager there is terrific, and he really listens to his customers--that's a real plus. I will always use only Appliance Tec for appliance repairs.

David Long replaced blown magnetron, restoring microwave function in our three years-old Maytag above-range microwave. However, when magnetron failed, fan speed control was also damaged (only 2 speeds - high/very loud and medium high/slightly less loud) and a light bulb was blown, requiring additional visits. David replaced circuit board, to no effect. Dave called manufacturer technical support while on site and ran some diagnostics that measured within specified values. Subsequently replaced fan blower motor and a resistor to no effect. This is the second major repair this unit has required since we bought it (in the first repair Dave replaced defective door switches a few month after purchase). We have no issues with Dave, who did everything he could to address the fan speed issue. The obvious unhappy conclusion we draw from this experience is that this model is a lemon built with junk parts.

Appliance Tec and Evan did a great job. We had a part on our Whirlpool has range fail while still under warranty. Whirlpool set us up with Appliance Tec. Unfortunately we had to wait 5 days to get an appointment, but I can’t really hold that against them. Evan arrived on schedule and called 20 min prior to arrival as well. He was in and out quickly to diagnose the problem. Again, unfortunately, the part needed to make the repair took several days to get in, so we were without our oven another week (two weeks at this point). After the new part came in, Evan was in and out in about 30 min. He was extremely polite and friendly. I would give Evan 5 stars and Appliance Tec 4 stars. The only reason for 4 stars vs 5 is that we had to wait a full week to get them out on the first visit to diagnose the problem. I wish we could have had them come out sooner. I can’t speak to pricing, as our part and service were still under warranty.

Dave F came to repair a broken area on the dishwasher rack. It was a 10 minute job. He then proceeded to give me advice on the best soap to use, how to fill the rinse aid, which cycle would give me the best results. He checked to make sure the machine was working properly and there were no errors that were showing up on the switchboard. He listened to the water filter and determined there was a loose piece stuck in the pump and cleaned it out. Dave F showed me how to clean the filter. And he stuffed a hole with some steel wool in a spot that a mouse likes to get in This is customer service that surpasses every expectation. You can’t pay people to care. The tech I had was friendly but after looking at my refrigerator for five minutes, determined that he could not fix it and I should call GE. This is after I waited three days for an appointment, and now have to wait another three days for a GE repair man to come to my house, in addition to taking off work for two 1/2 days. It seems like they shouldn’t advertise appliance repair when they can’t repair appliances. At least he didn’t charge me.

We understand the frustration when this happens. It's probable that, somewhere along the line, you have been referred by an independent garage to a dealer that represents the manufacturer of your car. This is done when the garage is unable to repair the car for one or more of many possible reasons. In some cases there is no choice since the dealer has information that is not shared with independent garages. In other cases this is done purely in the best interest of the customer since the dealer that specializes in your brand may be better suited to solve your particular problem. This was the reason the tech took this course of action. It's easy to think that all appliances are the same but in reality they are not. We repair appliances all day and if one of our professional technicians refers a customer to an authorized servicer for that brand you can bet there was a good reason. We strive to give the best service we can and as strange as it may sound, sometimes referring to the company that is best suited to handle your product may just be that. This also works the other way. It is nearly a daily occurrence that we have customers referred to us by other servicers because we are Factory Certified for Whirlpool, Kitchenaid, Maytag and Jenn Air. Again, we don't like to ever let our customers down and we're sorry we did here. We also hope that the servicer that made the repair was able to get you up and running quickly. Explained that items blocking the damper and rear wall air passages will cause longer than desired run times resulting g in frozen product in certain areas of the fresh food section.
