The customer was getting a gas smell from the stove. I checked all of the burner orifices and there was nothing coming from them so I checked in the back where the gas line connects to the unit and found that The gas fitting coming into the regulator was installed without any PTFE tape or pipe dope on it. I removed the fitting and connected it with proper PTFE tape and turned on the gas and leak tested the connection with bubble detection and the regulator connection was not leaking however the gas line coming through the floor connection was leaking so I recommended the customer contact RG&E to shut the gas off to the stove and have a plumber come to check the connections
