This Whirlpool oven has been a mystery to repair because it would not always turn on. Dave came time and time again, in contact with whirlpool, replacing all new parts and now it's working each time. Dave has been understanding and persistent to FIX the issue of infighting my oven. Yayyyyy Whirlpool had been great to pay for the repairs after I paid for the first one!!

David did nothing wrong, my issue is more with Maytag. The user guide is not accurate when it comes to the power dry short & long cycles. According to the the person David contacted via phone, when using the short power dry cycle the fan will continue to run after the machine clean indicator light comes on and apparently it will continue to run until the door is opened, it doesn't state this in the user guide...and it does not seem right or safe to me. Also, the user guide states that the long power dry cycle uses heat and a fan, but the fan on my machine doesn't come on at all! This was our first Maytag product and it will be the last!

Dave went right to work to diagnose the oven problem. Apparently it was human error on the part of the user.....But, grateful he was able to get us up and running again. I would request that you suggest to Hot Point they add a trouble shooting item. When you press "clock/tools" and 2, the temperature reading changes from F to C or C to F automatically without any confirmation required....So, when you set the cook temperature you either cook hotter than you thought or cooler than you thought. Shouldn't require a $96 service call to tell me that. If it were part of the trouble shooting guide, even I could have corrected the problem.

It was frustrating for us all; yet he stayed the coarse and dealt with whirlpool several times to do what was best to give me new inner oven parts. While under the counter, there was a significant gap between tub and countertop which would result in having to adjust the front legs to be aesthetically pleasing, and in this case would prevent unit from leaking. Customer then insisted to pull the unit back out and take note that it is “perfectly level and shouldn’t leak when perfectly level”. Ran unit through a diagnostic cycle and the unit did trip when the heating load was tested. Contacted tech line. Tech line agent requested to investigate the breaker and confirm that it is not a GFI breaker. Unit is indeed on a 15A GFI breaker; agent stated the machines will cause GFI units to trip. Tech line agent recommended to have customer contact an electrician to have the breaker replaced. Customer contacted the builder who said GFI is code.
